I’m going to see Paul McCartney tonight, more than 20 years after I saw him the first time. The Houston stop of his 1993 New World Tour was my first real rock concert. That was the show where I was first introduced to the
concept of the “encore”.

The best part of running a half-marathon was seeing my family at the finish line and having them cheer me on the last 20 yards. Hearing that the casualties in the Boston attacks were people cheering on loved ones breaks my heart.
